Pin Cushion Moss
Leucobryum glaucum

This tufty moss is pretty common in plant nurseries and rock gardens. Hence the name, it is rounded and resembles a pin cushion.

Alternate Names: Pillow Moss
Size: 1-2" - 1 yard clumps
Family: Leucobryaceae 
Habitat: Moist woods and swampy areas.
Identification: This clumpy moss can be green or grayish white, in tufts that detach easily from the soil surface.
