Black Vulture

Lacking a good sense of smell, these smaller vultures soar higher than Turkey Vultures (who do have good sniffers) to keep an eye on where they're going and hopefully follow them to carcasses.

White-breasted Nuthatch

You often see this bird clinging to the side of a tree truck, sometimes upside down. The curved shape of it's cute little body it like a swoopy parabola.

Eastern Kingbird

These birds got their name because they are super aggressive with each other and other species defending their nests. In addition they have a hidden crown of yellow on their head which is only visible when they attack.

Common Yellowthroat

These little warblers like tangled vegetation near marshes or wetlands, which is why I spotted one near a creek amongst all the tangly Witchhazel and Brook Alder.
